This is my first sabbatical. And I have no idea what to expect. How would you define a sabbatical?

A sabbatical is, most simply, a seasonal rest from work. Sabbaticals can have various styles and lengths but at its core, the time must be marked by rest: right-sizing your humanity God-ward and time-ward. This isn’t a multi-month long vacation or isolation: you will still be husband, father, friend, and neighbor. It is a time to delight in God’s love for you and to focus on your own holistic care. I believe a sabbatical can be a reawakening of your soul.

I don’t really have a budget for sabbatical coaching but I need help! What is your payment structure?

I really want to support the individual, church, or organization with packages that make sense for their needs. My rate is $100/hr for a coaching session, but discounts can decrease costs. I also offer a FREE 30-45 survey call: an intro call to get to know the client’s needs and what my coaching would look like. Ultimately, money should not be a barrier to your next step! Are you a licensed counselor or a spiritual director?

I am not. I have an ICF Associate Coach and trained in the COACH Model. Counseling is healing the past to understand your present, whereas coaching is hoping in the future to respond in your now. I often refer people to trusted counselors because their needs require a different expertise. My style of coaching does utilize spiritual rhythms and practices. I believe deeply that the Holy Spirit leads our next best step, and love helping clients discover those possibilities!

Do I need to be face-to-face for coaching sessions or can these be remote?

No, actually most clients are remote. I use Google Meet or FaceTime on occasion. My website and Google Drive provide the platforms for session recaps, goal sheets, resources and payment portals.
